Dear Nala:

Paige and I put up our Christmas tree, lights, and wreath today.  Kody helped us get the tree.  It hurt so much to not be able to do that with you this year.  

I did everything like you liked it.  Like you taught me.  I put in the lights, making sure to put them closer to the trunk of the tree.  I put up the beads and the ribbons.  It has our angel top and all of our ornaments.  I'm going to finally put a photo into our 2013 ornament this week.  I'm so sorry for not doing that sooner honey.  

After you passed, I had found a box of Lion King ornaments and music box at your desk in the office.  I barely remembered that they existed.  We forgot to put them on our tree the last two years, because they weren't stored with the rest of the ornaments.  They're on the tree this year, and you and I are staring at each other towards the top of the tree.  

The entire time I was doing it, I was crying off and on, on the inside and the outside.  I miss our routine where you'd stand there watching me, or cooking, all the while telling me how to do it right.  

I hope I did it to your liking this year baby.  I want nothing more than for you to be happy still.
