Sabrina's Instagram Account

Anyone who actually knew Sabrina, even a little bit, would know and tell you about how private she was.  She didn't want anyone knowing her business.  This was never more true as it was on the internet.  Despite her inner-nature, she created an Instagram account specifically to allow her and I to communicate through photos.  This was mostly because the first year or so of our relationship was long distance.  These are the photos that you couldn't see, because her account was private.  I wasn't even allowed to comment on or like them.

TIP:  Start at the very end, and then work your way back from there if you want to read through our story in chronological order.

Background Story

This is the first lunch pic Nala posted from her new home in Delray Beach.  She could wrap a burrito or anything else perfectly.  She'd laugh at me whenever I tried.  Her real laugh was the most pleasant and loving sound in the world.  I miss it so much.

You may have hear a laugh from her.  You may have even heard her snort because she really did think something was funny.  However, I seriously doubt you ever actually heard her laugh.  When I spoke to her about her laugh being different, she said that only I could have her real laugh.  She gave everyone else her courtesy laugh.  That was my Nala.  My soulmate.

As with pretty much every other photo I took while we were together, my photos and my captions were for my Nala.  There's a handful of exceptions though.  The sandwich photo below is a prime example.  She watched me make sandwiches several times over Skype, and the first few times were met with her laughing at me and making fun of me.  I love it so much.  However, she'd then give me tips on how to make the sandwich better.  Sometimes it had to do with what I should do prior to building the sandwich, other times the build order, and other times what to do while building.

Here's a few tips she taught me that you should know:

  • Always put the tomato against your lettuce.  The lettuce will prevent the tomato from sliding out.
  • Never use tomatoes unless you at a pinch of salt and pepper on them before the next part of the layer.
  • Cut your tomatoes in thin slices (that's partially mine).
